Phillip Burke

Phillip Burke is a significant participant in the Detroit art scene. Trained as a painter, Burke produces intricate paintings that blur the comical with the complex. His work has been shown at the Susanne Hilberry Gallery and the BBAC. Burke also co-curated several exhibitions, including Wacky Painting and Five Shows in Five Days at the Detroit Artists’ Market. He is also founder of Payola Design. Currently, he is exploring the medium of photography and works in two musical side projects: the band Annuthin and a drum and bass combo titled Y.T.
